In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the importance of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in schools As educators, parents, and researchers have come to understand the impact that social and emotional skills have on students’ academic achievement and overall well-being, there has been a greater emphasis placed on incorporating SEL into the school curriculum.
SEL is defined by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) as the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others sel in schools.
